By the time I finished writing my first book, Never-Ending Nightmares, digital books had already become normal for readers looking to read on the go. This was back in 2017, so how do digital books fare in 2024?
I believe digital books have become a great avenue for authors and readers, but how does writing an e-book benefit authors specifically?

Make Changes Later!
I didn't know you could do this, but publishing through Amazon Kindle allows you to edit your book later! Although you might not want to utilize this function too much, this is an important asset for those who want to make important changes to their book later. It takes little time to do, and the file is updated quickly!
Earn More $
Physical books take the material to make, so royalties change depending on the format you choose to publish. Physical books can take a larger percentage of your profit because of the cover and material prices. Royalties for -books usually will be calculated based on net profit, which puts more money in your pocket!
Instant Gratification
As someone who buys books in-person and online, I know buying digitally is quick and easy. Once I go into my Amazon or Kindle app, finding the book I want and adding it to my library. This is also a plus because you want your readers to be happy as an author. Easily accessible content has become popular with the rapid growth of technology.
Portability
This ties into the fact that readers have instant gratification when buying an e-book for their library. I don't personally see many instances where people carry books with them to read, but that can also be circumstance. More often I see people reading at cafes with their kindle on hand. Portability is important, for readers, as bulky books can be a hassle to carry around with them, so you can think about that when writing your book!
Happy Saturday! <3
