First Line:
"Birthdays aren’t my thing."
Summary:
When Violet Eden turns 17, everything changes. Her nightmares leave real scars, and the boy that has left her smitten for a year turns out to be someone she didn't expect.
He is only half-human, and apparently, she is too.
Violet tries to figure out who (and what) she is while navigating a completely different world. The world of the angelic.
My Review: NO SPOILERS
This book is much more intricate than it lets on. Violet has a lot of complex feelings as she learns more about her past, and what she is expected to be in her future. Her interactions with other characters change as she grows into this new world, even if she doesn't want to become what she was meant to become.
A mix of the supernatural, lust, and well-written fight scenes, this book was very entertaining. I also really enjoyed the twist that took place, and how it turned the story back on its head.
Well done!

My Favorite Quote:
Yet even as I told myself this was the way it was, I couldn’t help but hold on to the glimmer of hope within, the one that whispered, Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
“One day at a time,” he agreed.
