Quarterly Check-In: Mindset, Goals, and Thoughts

It is almost Fall again, and I don't know what to do with myself.

Hello, my lovely readers! I hope you are all doing amazing.

We are now entering our third quarter check-in! How has the year been so far? Have you done anything exciting? Different? Soothing? Let me know in the comments!

A piece of paper with 'goals for the year' written on it

My main goals for this year were as follows:

1. Read 70 books

2. Touch grass

3. Attend more social events

4. Practice better self-care

I'm writing this post on August 5th for reference to the progress I've made. Things have been exciting this year!

Unfortunately, my yearly reading goal isn't going as well as I thought, but there's still time! I've read 21 books out of 70 so far. I hope to reach my goal, but even if I don't, I'm proud that I've been reading lately!

Haha, I forgot one of my goals was to touch grass (aka go outside more) so I had a good laugh looking back at it. I haven't been doing too well in that department either. I recently broke out into some form of rash after possibly catching an allergic reaction from outside. Since then, I've been careful with going out and maintaining a routine that helps my skin heal. As of today it still hasn't cleared out, but I'm hoping that might change soon!

As for attending more social events, I did take a big leap and went to OtakuFest with one of my close childhood friends! I dressed up as Tengen from Demon Slayer and it was cool to see all the cosplayers and voice actors for some of my favorite anime. I look forward to going again next year! I think this time around I was too anxious and didn't get to fully enjoy the event.

As for self-care, I have been doing a lot of it! Most of that has been going toward skincare and taking care of my acne (which can be relentless). I've also been spending time brain-rotting, and giving myself breaks from thinking and being anxious. It has been helpful for my mental health, but this has also hindered my motivation.

I hope you are all well and working on your happiness <3

Don't give up on your goals! Even a little progress is still progress, so continue taking baby steps.
