Us Deadly Few (Book 2 of 3) by Alexis Patton

ree

First Line:

Destruction holds a deadly beauty.

Summary:

Khalani Kanes is in over her head.

Takeshi is hot and cold with his emotions, storms sweep across the Death-Zone, and signs lead to the fact they may not be alone on the surface. Now, more than ever, Khalani must summon her inner strength to face what's ahead.

This time, they may never make it out alive.

My Review: NO SPOILERS

This book had me in the first half, then lost me in the second.

I feel like this book lost a bit of steam for me somewhere near the middle. I enjoyed the first book because it was exciting and new. I think I just lost focus too many times and felt I had to force myself to finish.

Maybe I'll pick up the third book because I'd love to see Takeshi and Kanes have their happy ending, now that their back-and-forth emotions have calmed down a bit.

My Favorite Quote(s):

Serene was more than a friend. She was the laughter you tried to contain and the inner voice of confidence when you falter.

He loved her. Loved her with every ounce of his being. Loved her like the stars love the night sky.

“Takeshi,” she whispered, his name returning to her like an answered prayer.
