First Line:
Delora wiggled her shoulders side to side while splaying her fingers, both done in an attempt to free herself from the rope bindings around her wrists.
Summary:
Delora just wanted to free herself and now she is in the Veil. She doesn't mind it. She accepts her imminent demise, but the Veil has other plans.
All he wanted was a name and a human to call his own. When one falls into his lap, he is dumbfounded and gets right to work healing her from her injuries. He doesn't quite understand humanity, but he does understand her injuries are not just physical.
His goal is to gain her affection, and hers is to leave the world and all the pain behind. Can he convince her to stay, despite his lack of humanity?
My Review: NO SPOILERS
I fondly remember reading 'A Soul to Keep,' so I've finally found the time to dive back into the Veil. I'm so ready to be back in the Duskwalker universe!
I adored how this book delved into mental health and the healing process. I see mental health as a topic misrepresented in books, but this series does it justice. I enjoyed reading about Delora's healing process, and how her Duskwalker learned to care for her even when he did it wrong a few times.
I can't say too much without giving spoilers but it was also nice to see Orpheus and Reia make some small appearances! I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series! So well done <3
