Brain Dump: What I've Been Up To

Hello everyone!
My brain is a jumbled mess, which is a fancy way of saying I'm way too tired to write anything productive. So, I want to make a post delving into my daily life and what my latest interests have been. Stay tuned if you want to hear about projects I'm working on, what I've been reading, games I've been playing, etc!

Writing Projects
Although I have writing projects I'm supposed to be working on, I couldn't truly call myself a writer if I weren't working on something entirely different.
My current writing fixation is named 'Fae King,' and if you're an avid fantasy or romance reader, you probably already get the gist. Although I'm reluctant to give too many details (just in case I decide to publish further down the line), I can tell you it is about finding kindness after living through endless hurricanes. It's incredibly mushy. The main male character is a softy with a hard exterior, while the female main character is afraid to accept good things. I am so in love with them, it's been hard to focus on anything else.
I still plan on finishing Never-Ending Nightmares to republish in February 2026. I want to dedicate a month to rereading everything I have so far and to finishing the last chapter. Then, I can finally allow myself to look for an artist and editor.

Video Games
When I'm not writing, I'm probably playing video games. I adore people's ability to weave stories into incredible visuals and enticing gameplay. Video games have always been a great form of escapism.
This leads to me buying games before I finish ones I've started. I decided a few months ago, I would commit to finishing games I want and need to finish. The three games I've been playing most lately are:
Stardew Valley: I have heard people talk about this game for years, and although I was intrigued by passing conversation, I never got into it. A friend convinced me to buy the game near the top of the year, and I finally caved. I now understand why everyone is obsessed with this game. It's a seemingly simple farming game at first, but it quickly turns into a game you can't put down. I swear, this game has taken over my life, and I love it. I have a save file for myself, one with one friend, one with another, and a group farm. Yes, it's a lot, but I would highly recommend it! It is equal parts cozy and chaotic, and makes me feel like I'm getting things done (even if it's in a virtual space).
Baldur's Gate 3: I started playing this game last year (I think, don't quote me on that), and I had no clue what I was doing. I didn't know anything about Dungeons and Dragons, so it was new territory for me. Then I started playing with friends who knew much more than I did, and I felt even more lost. Eventually, I dropped it, but I have been listening to an amazing DND podcast called Dungeons and Daddies, and I wanted to get back into it, having gained some more knowledge about the game. About a month ago, I made a new save file, a new character, and started all over again. I'm so glad I did! I feel like I enjoy the game so much more, and I can properly strategize what I'm going to do next. I also missed how GORGEOUS the game looks. The developers put their foot into the graphics and visuals, and I have no complaints about it.
Kingdom Hearts 3: I cannot say ENOUGH about this game. I grew up playing Kingdom Hearts with my sister. By this, I mean she would have the controller in hand, playing the game, and I would be the brains in the background when she got stuck. As a kid, I didn't care much about the storyline. I just loved the premise. The series is about hope. It's about finding light in the darkness. The good in the bad. Friendship in dark times. I played Kingdom Hearts 2 as a kid, too, but never got around to 3 because my console was too outdated. When it came out on PC, I became intrigued, and I decided to dive in again. As cheesy as it is now, as an adult, I still adore the characters and story.

Currently Reading
My list of to-be-read books is an absolute MESS.
I cannot believe some of the books on my TBR. Do you ever get intimidated by how good a book could be, so you end up never getting to it? That is exactly how I feel, almost every day.
Recently, I've been seeing different people use a wheel to pick which book they'll read next, and I think I'll try the same method. Right now, to lessen my list of books to read (and because my attention span is nonexistent), I try to read three books at a time. One physical, one ebook, and one audiobook (which is a new thing for me). Here are the books I'm currently reading.
Darkfall by Dean Koontz: So far, this audiobook is going great! I'm only 20% through this book, so I can't give a full opinion yet, but so far it's had some questionable moments (mostly about race). I hope this isn't a continuing theme because I do enjoy this author. The horror aspect, however, is exactly my speed. Creatures unknown, bodies found, a true murder mystery.
The Night Prince by Lauren Palphreyman: I read the first of this duology (I'm not sure if it's a duology, so don't quote me) and I fell in LOVE. For my fellow werewolf girlies, this series is awesome! This second book has lost a little steam for me, as I don't like love triangles or incredibly uncertain main characters, but I hope it also takes a turn for the better! I'm currently 70% of the way through, so very close to the end!
The Montegard Murder by Paul Copenhagen: Another murder mystery! Can you sense a trend in my interests? This one is written by one of my online friends, and of course, I had to support him. I was so excited to hear he was also an author! This book is about a murder at a type of vacation hotel, where most people are linked together by the past. I'm almost halfway through and excited to see where it goes!
