Happy New Year!
I cannot believe it is already 2025, and I've been posting on this site for THREE YEARS.
Wild! I hope you all had a beautiful and productive 2024.
2024
Last year I tried to keep my goals simple, but I may have slacked a bit in the reading department. My goals were as follows:
1. Read 70 books
2. Touch grass
3. Attend more social events
4. Practice better self-care
Regarding the last three, I think I did pretty well! I've been hanging out with my friends more and trying to be present in each situation. I rarely look at my phone when I'm with other people, but it also helps me take stock of my surroundings and how I feel. Grounding yourself can be helpful when you're out and about, and this practice helped my social anxiety.
I've also been very keen about taking care of myself, my hygiene, and my appearance this year. I'm more comfortable with how I feel/look than ever, and hope to continue caring for myself more often! I'm taking vitamins and trying to exercise 3 times a week for at least an hour. It's been great!
The only goal I slacked on was reading. My work schedule has changed, and I've been taking on more responsibilities. This has taken a chunk out of my time to read, as well as my lack of focus. Social media has drained my attention span, and instead of reading, I find myself scrolling through TikTok and letting my brain rot. I'm glad to have caught the massive decrease in my reading list, and hopefully next year we can fix that!
2025
I've been thinking of some goals I can make for the new year and came up with this short list. I hope to do better about my goals, but honestly, I don't feel the need to pressure myself to complete everything. I hope you guys feel the same about your goals :)
1. Read 40 Books
2. Finish a Special Book Project ;)
3. Less Screen Time
4. Get Used to Being Uncomfortable
These are all self-explanatory, but I also have goals not listed here. I'm still learning how to heal and care for myself beneficially. I'm still working on my writing and hobbies behind the scenes. I hope they can grow and build just as I have this past year.
I hope you all complete your goals and more this year. I wish you all the best. <3
