First Line:
They say York is the most haunted city in England, but I’m probably the only person in it named after a ghost.
Summary:
Lizzy Grimm is struggling.
Her late father’s antique shop is not doing well. She needs the money to take care of her mother, who has been stricken with a sudden affliction.
She is surprised to meet Antony, a man whose sister has also been cursed with the same affliction. They are both desperate to have their loved ones back, and work together to solve the mystery.
In the process, Lizzy finds mysterious books, a strange passageway, and possibly love.
My Review: NO SPOILERS
An entertaining and satisfying read.
I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect when I started this book, but I’m pleasantly surprised at the outcome. I enjoyed the story more than I’d anticipated. Although the voice actors weren’t my favorite, I still enjoyed being immersed in the audio version.
Story-wise, I’m always happy to have a happy ending! Lizzy and Antony are perfect for each other, and I loved seeing his perspective every once in a while. It really highlighted the angst between the two characters! I do wish there was more info about the fantasy aspects of the book, but overall well done!
