The Testaments (Book 2 of 2) by Margaret Atwood

First Line:
Only dead people are allowed to have statues, but I have been given one while still alive. Already I am petrified.
Summary:
Three women whose fates will align as the Republic of Gilead grows weaker.
Two have grown up within it. One will find out Gilead wasn't as far as she'd thought.
My Review: NO SPOILERS
Couldn't get enough of this book!
So intriguing, horrifying, and decidedly human. The first book in the duology intrigued me, especially from its first-person perspective from within Gilead, but this one hit differently.
Halfway through the book and beyond, i felt like I was holding my breath. There's something so eerie about rooting for characters in a doomed world, and it felt like all the FMCs were just that. Doomed.
I couldn't put this down, and I'm SO satisfied with the ending. It was realistic, knowing that sacrifices had to be made for the greater good, and I appreciated how high the stakes were!
One of my favorites by far

My Favorite Quote(s):
You can be angry at dead people, but you can never have a conversation about what they did; or you can only have one side of it.
Withereth, withereth. It was like lisping---as if God did not know how to speak clearly. A lot of us had stumbled over that word while reciting it.
