Thrum by Meg Smitherman

First Line:

My first thought is that my crew is sleeping.

Summary:

Ami is the only surviving crew member, stranded on the edge of deep space, when she contacts Dorian.

The being.

She navigates through his ship, which morphs and bends against his will, until memories she doesn't recognize surface. The haunting reality forces her to accept or reject what she is seeing.

My Review: NO SPOILERS

My skin is crawling, and I am horrified [in a good way?]

You know those kinds of books that you’ll never read again? Not because it was bad, but because it was so heart-wrenchingly good that you could never have the same experience?

What a damn book.

As a fan of horror, this had me horrified. From the moment Ami stepped off that ship, I was SCREAMING 'no' the entire rest of the story. I felt like I was losing my mind, and every word that came after mesmerized me!

So so good! Worth the hype!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My Favorite Quote(s):

We are infants after stasis: helpless, naked, and wailing.

Our knowledge is so minute, a tiny droplet in a vast sea that never ends, and we had the audacity to think we knew what we were getting into.

An eager fear boils at the base of my chest, and I am wide-eyed and breathing heavily, waiting — expecting — wanting — something to stop me in my tracks.
