Stillhouse Lake (Book 1 of 7) by Rachel Caine & Carry Ryan

First Line:

Gina never asked about the garage.

Summary:

Gina is a normal stay-at-home parent. Average life, average husband, average kids.

And then a car accident reveals the body in the garage.

When Gina finds out her husband is a serial killer, her entire world is flipped upside down. She moves her kids to Stillhouse Lake, somewhere to get away from it all. Getting comfortable is dangerous, but she can't help it.

But danger is never far away.

My Review: NO SPOILERS

This book is so well-done!

Usually, I make it a game and try to guess who the villain is, but completely forgot. I got so wrapped up in the story and the relationships of the characters!

The only reason this wasn't a 5-star for me is because there were a lot of repetitive lines in the book regarding inner dialogue, and because sometimes I actively thought how I wanted the author to let me think for myself. There were a lot of things spelled out that didn't need to be.

Otherwise, a great read! It had a great blend of suspense, and I found myself really curious about the surrounding characters. They felt fully developed, which made reading fun!
