It happens to the best of us. You could be hooked on a story for months before suddenly having no idea what to do with it. The spark you feel for a story is subject to change.
This isn't your average writer's block.
Even so, it is entirely possible to reignite the love you had for a story. Keep reading for tips on how to fall in love with your story.

Revisit why you started writing your story
What about your story excited you? Dive back into the mindset you had when you started to write. Did you like the characters' concepts? Were you excited to explore the world your story was set in?
Step away from your story
Sometimes, distance can bring clarity. Taking a break can be just the thing you and your story need to grow stronger. I believe if you use your break wisely, you can come back missing your story even more!
P.S. go for walks, read, watch movies/shows, daydream, etc. Be sure to do things to fill your creativity!
Write out of order
This is, by far, one of my favorite methods for writing! If you get stuck in one part of your story, try putting your character farther along. Write your climax moment, or a moment of tension. Writing a scene you're excited about can help you fall back in love with your story and characters.
Talk about your story with someone you trust
An outside perspective is an imperative tool for writers. Choose a person you trust to read your story and give you feedback! This can be a fellow writer, a close friend, or an editor. For bonus points, have a questionnaire ready for them to answer once they finish reading. Fresh eyes see what we can't!
Falling out of love with your story doesn't always mean you should drop it, or that you've failed. Commitment often has to outweigh your excitement for your story. The important thing is to fuel your creative mind and keep writing!
Happy Saturday!
