The Legend of Syn (Book 1 of 3) by Katie Gaskin

First Line:

Salt. Salt and sand. The smell of seaweed and rotting fish.

Summary:

Emmie has lost everything. When King Ashay, god of Change, forces Emmie into servitude, she loses more of herself.

He is cold and calculating, while she is empathetic and reckless. They clash more often than not, trying to change the land and themselves for the better.

Except neither will give in.

My Review: NO SPOILERS

Reading slump eradicated!

I am so glad I finally picked this one up; it has been sitting in my TBR for longer than I’d like to admit. Tension (political and relationship-wise), yearning, grief, and joy all in one pretty package!

This book reminded me of the Four Horsemen series, but a lot more digestible. Curious to see what comes next!

Rating:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My Favorite Quote(s):

Nearly twice as tall as any man near him, this king had skin like a moonless night . . .
